Republic of Iceland
Iceland is a member of NATO, although it maintains no standing army or other traditional defence force. A few small services do exist that provide national security and allow Iceland to participate in certain peacekeeping operations. Of these, the Air Defence System is the most traditionally "military" in nature. There is also a Coast Guard, and a National Police force. The Icelandic Crisis Response Unit (ICRU) is a small peacekeeping force that has participated in such missions as SFOR, KFOR and ISAF.
Camouflage Patterns worn by Iceland
- The ICRU personnel that deployed to Bosnia (SFOR) and Kosovo (KFOR) wore ex-British military issue Soldier 95 DPM pattern camouflage uniforms.
- Members of the Icelandic Crisis Response Unit (ICRU) deployed to Afghanistan (ISAF) wore the Norwegian M03 desert pattern in 2004-5 and again in 2006-7.
