Kwa Zulu

KwaZulu was a tribal homeland in the eastern region of Republic of South Africa from 1977 until 1994.[1] KwaZulu was set aside for the Zulu-speaking people, for whom Chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi was its traditional leader as well as head of the Inkatha Freedom Party. KwaZulu was reincorporated into South Africa on 27 April 1994, merging with the old province of Natal to become the new KwaZulu-Natal province.

Although KwaZulu never organized a full-fledged defense force as did many of the other homelands, the Police force was fully-trained for domestic and counter-insurgency operations.

KwaZulu Camouflage

  • The KwaZulu Police utilized a camouflage pattern based on the "grasslands" design of the South African Police (SAP), but incorporating grass green and orange foliage shapes on a grey background.
