Founded in 1985 by an ex-Royal Marine, UK-based Arktis was created to provide an alternative to British standard-issue military gear. The company has grown considerably since the 1980s and now manufacture all types of specialist clothing & equipment for military units, police forces, emergency services, and outdoor enthusiasts all over the world.[1] Although primarily committed to the field gear itself, the company has produced its line of clothing in a variety of camouflage patterns (as well as solid colors), including many developed by other countries and a handful of innovative designs developed for specific environments.
