The Army is composed of the 2nd and 3rd Battalions, Malawi Rifles, the Parachute Battalion, and the Combat Support Battalion. In recent years, the Malawi Army have received training and assistance from the [[USA|United States]], including the donation of large quantities of military equipment and uniforms. Malawi contributes a significant number of personnel to the United Nations Force Intervention Brigade (FIB), which also includes personnel from [[South Africa]] and [[Tanzania]].
