Serbia

Serbia was part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and later became Serbia and Montenegro until 2006. Despite being a part of Yugoslavia, Serbian police units did use some patterns that what not used by the other member states of Yugoslavia.

Serbian Military Patterns

• M89 oak leaf pattern. In general use by the Serbian forces.

• M93 oak leaf pattern. The same camouflage pattern as the M89, but used on a new series of uniforms.

• MDU02 woodland oak leaf pattern. In general use by the Serbian Armed forces. New "NATO" colours

• MDU03 woodland oak leaf pattern. In general use by the Serbian Armed forces. The colours differs slightly from the MDU02

• M08 (also called M07 by some) "Dragon Flight" digital pattern.

• The desert version of the "Dragon Flight" digital patern

Serbian Special Units

JSO (Jedinica za specijalne operacije or "Special Operations Unit") was an elite special unit of the Serbian Service of State Security. It was formed in 1996 when paramilitary units (like "Arkan's Tigers") was merged into a unit under the Serbian Security Service. It was disbanded in 2003 when the Serbian Prime Minister - Zoran Đinđić - was assassinated and some members of this unit was involved.

• JSO urban pattern. Probably made in Hungary

• JSO Woodland - a copy of the US M/81 Woodland

• Žandarmerija ("Gendarmery") was formed in 2001. The JSO and PJP (Special Police Unit) was later attached to the Gendarmery. It consists of 4 battalion sized units - in Belgrade, Nis, Novi Sad and Kraljevo. In 2010 they acquired Tru-Spec ACU uniforms.

• The anti-terrorist squad uses both the standard Army digital as well as the special urban camouflage pattern designated Makirna Dragon Tactical i Digitalna Urbana

Serbian Police Patterns

• Blue tiger. A lizard pattern used by the Serbian police, introduced 1992. Since 1997 used as "field uniform" for all police officers - used for riot control, field exercies and during the conflict in Kosovo. Used until 2001. It is a "blue" version of the pattern used by JNA. There are several colour variations - by some called "purple tiger".

• Grey tiger. Used by the MUP (Ministarstvo Unutrašnjih Poslova - Ministry of Internal Affairs)

• Police grey puzzle pattern. A grey version of the Army M89 pattern. Perhaps never issued. Produced around 1993.

• Blue puzzle pattern used by the Serbian Special Police. A blue version of the Army M89 pattern. Only two series produced. Issued around 1992.

Paramilitary patterns

• Greek lizard pattern used by Srpska Dobroljacka Garda ("Serb Volunteer Guard" - also known as Arkan's Tigers) - led by Arkan (Zeljko Raznatovic). It was founded in 1990 and fought in the wars in Croatia and Bosnia.
